Shamaree Brown

Director/Student-Athlete Programs & Compliance; Atlantic Coast Conference

    Shamaree Brown joined the ACC Office in 2010 and serves as the Director of Student-Athlete Programs & Compliance. In this role, Brown oversees all student-athlete development and wellness areas within the ACC, which includes the following: leadership development, career development, academic support, health and safety, sportsmanship, and diversity and inclusion. Additionally, Brown assists in providing NCAA and ACC rules interpretations to ACC institutions.

    Prior to joining in the ACC Office, Brown was the Assistant Director of Compliance and Championships at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference from 2007-2010. He served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance & Student-Athlete Development at New Haven from 2005-07.

    A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Winston-Salem State University where he also played football. He completed his Master’s in Sport Administration from the University of New Haven.

    Brown and his wife, Elena, reside in Greensboro with their two children – Shamaree Jr. and Leila.
